Description
Among Us takes the wildly popular social deduction game format seen in tabletop games such as Werewolf and shifts it to your screen. As it lands on consoles, the Windows and smartphone versions are already wildly popular and showing signs of kickstarting a whole new genre for videogames, with big dogs such as Fortnite already taking a punt at it. The basic premise is this: you're onboard an ailing spaceship as one of a number of colourful astronauts and you have one of two roles; crewmate or impostor. As one of two impostors, however, your role is to do away with enough crewmates to tip the balance in your favour without getting caught. Your secondary (but most important) role as a crewmate, then, is to successfully figure out who those rascally impostors are. It's a simple enough premise, but it offers an incredible amount of depth thanks largely to the fact you're not fooling AI - you're up against real humans. That means you can't keep repeating the same successful strategy, as people will see right through it. Heck, sometimes you might have to be downright illogical to throw them off the scent. It's sometimes stressful, occasionally brutal, often silly and always fun. This is a genre that's going to explode, but Among Us is your opportunity to get in on the ground floor.
